ARGENTINA 2016 Borges Cultural Center, Buenos Aires
The Argentine edition took place from April 8th until April 27th 2016, at the Borges Cultural Center, one of the most renown galleries in the country. Located at the historic neighborhood of Recoleta, City of Buenos Aires, this exhibition gathered 5 renowned photographers from all over the world and was declared of cultural interest by the City Government.
The chosen photographers were: Matías Altbach (Argentina), Matthias Hombauer (Austria), Javier Bragado (España) and Dana Distortion (US), all of whom were present at the opening night and gave a press conference and a special workshop for local photographers.
Placed at the Sala Berni, the exhibition showcased some of the most iconic pictures from many of the biggest names in the photo industry. Ranging from AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, to Coldplay, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kiss and Madonna, among others, this art pieces have been making waves around the world, published by international media like the Rolling Stone magazine, Billboard, NME, The Guardian, The New York Times, Q Magazine, SPIN, People, GIG Photographer, to name a few.
The exhibition also featured shots from Dean Chalkley, a Photographer and Film Maker from London that after training to be a Tailor, put the scissors aside in favor of the Camera and studied at Blackpool and the Fylde College, completing his Photography degree. Whilst at college he began shooting for Dazed and Confused magazine (1998). Since then Dean has continued to depict his love for Culture, and Music especially working with many different publications, record companies and fashion brands. He has undertaken high profile campaigns for the likes of Rayban, Levis and New Balance.
